Kaila's Baptism

April 11, 2009

We finally got Kaila Baptized! The previous month Grandma Lu was in Ohio visiting Julie, and Uncle Jon was going to be out of town for USU game, se we decided that we would wait another month so they could both be with us. So, even though it was Easter weekend and some other members of the family we not able to be there we decided to just to get it done.

It was supposed to start at 12:00pm but when we got to the church there was quite the mix up. The baptism before us had drained the water and for some reason the Stake Baptism Font Fillers had not known that they had another baptism that day. So, after the wonderful Primary President, Sis. Suzanne Johnson, tracked down the Stake people, we had them fill it back up. This takes about 1 hour so we decided to go back to our house to have lunch, then meet back at the church at 2:00pm. A few people were not able to come back, so we missed Sis. Johnson. One of Kaila's primary teachers, Sis. Maughan was there with her daughter, as well as Dee Downs, Clay's friend, and Bro. Matt Larson from the Bishopric was there as well. They are missing from this picture.
Kaila was baptised by Clay, Unlce Jon gave a talk on Baptism, Grandpa Dave gave a talk on Confirmation. Grandpa Wiser and Cami gave prayers. Clay did awesome, he only had to dunk her one time. Kaila was amazing! She and Clay had practiced so she wasn't too scared. We are so proud of her and her decision to get baptized a member of our church.
It was very nice for everyone to come, even though it was Easter weekend. We appreciate everyone coming to celebrate with us!!!

Here are some pictures that we had taken at Kiddie Kandids. They turned out pretty cute. We were able to make an announcement/invitation to send to everyone. She also has a collection of pictures in her room. Her baptism dress was really pretty.
